Research shows that boys and girls learn differently - the 'hard-wiring' is undeniable! Understanding the differences and similarities between boys and girls opens up enormous possibilties for student engagement and achievement in learning.
How can teachers better engage both boys AND girls in the classroom? It's not as difficult as it sounds! This 90 minute workshop targets teachers of primary and secondary schools and focuses on the issues of:
- The differences between boys and girls - it's not just physical!
- Motivation to learn - what the research says
- Boys and girls education strategies - the rationale and evidence
- Taking action - school and classroom practice
- The focus areas: teaching and learning; social support; home/school/community partnerships
- What are we doing now? Strategies to analyse, plan and evaluate current and future practice
